Textile Identification Stain # 1 for Natural fibers（shown on MFF#43）
Gives better color differential between NATURAL fibers
Preperation:Sample to be tested must be boiled off ,or in the the case of dyed or printed sample,stripped.Prepare 1% solution.Bring to a boil. Immerse sample for 5 minutes at boiling temperature. Then rinse thoroughiy in water of 120° F. and dry.

All fabrics to be tested should be as free as possible from dyes and finishes, or results could show the nature of the dyes, coatings, finishes, etc.
STAIN #1: (More suitable for NATURAL fiber Identification)
1. Weigh material to be tested, let it be “x” grams.
2. Use enough tap water to cover specimen to be tested. Bring water to rapid boil.
3. Add 2(x) cc of 0.1% solution of stain # 1 solution and continue to boil additional 5 minutes
4. Add sample to be tested, stir and boil for 5 minutes.
5. Rinse until clear, dry
